Against the Sky

A fleeting moment of golden autumn, captured.

It's a much better day.
I've caught up on many things and even managed to bake an apple pie in honour of the season.
Time was found for writing this morning.
I am no longer railing against the sky.

Love the photo, dfLeah.
Happy to hear that things are coming around for you.
Apple pie? Yum!

Thanks, dfBag Lady. We're trying the pie tonight. The apples were quite small and not as ripe as apples ought. I loaded the sugar along with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Thank you, TL. Fall is the best.

Lovely to hear it, Leah. Was the pie as yummy as I'll bet it was?

Thanks, Hilary. The pie was okay. The apples are small and quite sour and the cup of sugar (with cinnamon, nutmeg and cayenne) wasn't quite enough for me. My husband, on the other hand, thought it was wonderful. In fairness, it is getting better each day.

Apple pie?

No thanks, Leah. I just had one over at Baggies.

Well - if you insist. Just a little more cream, perhaps.

Vee-eery nice!

Oh, yes. Someone else who puts cream on apple pie. Haven't in years as I haven't had real cream in a long time, but Dawn, that brought back memories.

MizFit, I'm happy I could provide a moment of calm for you. Makes me feel as though I've accomplished something.
Pie was okay, thanks for asking. The apples were small and mean and sour and I didn't sweeten them enough for me. Husband thought it was perfect.
