Gratitude Monday - In a Heartbeat

One of the bluebirds found on the Kootenay Plains.

It’s a great day.
It’s Monday, the start of a fresh week “with no mistakes in it” if you’ll let me quote Anne Shirley. (Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery. Anne was talking about a day, but I’m stupidoptimstic and will go with week).
I’m grateful for many things already and now I get to add a new one. On May 14 I’m going in for some outpatient heart surgery at the U of A.
It’s called catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation.
I got the call on Friday that it was set up. It’ll take all day and I have to stay in Edmonton that night in case I have to get back to the hospital for any reason.
I’ve decided I won’t have to, but I’ll stay handy to it anyway.
Prior to the surgery I need to have a cardioversion done again. It’s where the heart is stopped ever so briefly and then restarted. It’s done to restore proper sinus rhythm.
Once that’s done I get to stop taking the second beta blocker I was put on recently.
It’s all good and it’s just going to keep getting better.
**
The bluebird in the picture is, of course, the bluebird of happiness.
Have a great week, everyone.
I’m going to.

Good thing you're taking such great care of yourself and getting excellent medical care. Sounds like they are totally on top of this.

Having access to doctors who know what they are doing is indeed something to be grateful for!

you have such the positive attitude with the ITS ALL GOOD & GETTING BETTER.

It is truly amazing what we (ok they.) can do now. Stopping the heart and restarting has become practically routine.

Im grateful for every morning.

Love your positive attitude, cousin. And I am certain that everything will work out fine.

The bluebird of happiness has flown up your nose, by the sounds of things! (hehehehehe)

Thanks, Crabby. I'm have a fine electrocardiologist in Edmonton for the operation and his buddy in Red Deer, an equally fine doctor, taking care of the cardioversion.
This is coming along quickly as lengthy waiting lists are the norm.

MizFit, the operation (ablation) wasn't even heard of until the late 1990s. Yes, the medical world can do some incredible things. I never thought that heart surgery would be done as an outpatient.

Cousin, I can't help myself. That damn bluebird has taken over.

That sounds kind of scary, but I know it's all good.

Wishing you the best!

Bunnygirl, thanks. It's a wee bit unsettling as it is surgery, but I've already decided that everything will be great.

I'm grateful that the surgery will get you off of at least one drug. Good that it is soon too, nothing worse than knowing something has to be done but then having to wait and wait! Lovely bluebird and the header photo is great.

Thanks, Reb. I'm an impatient patient.
Glad you like the bluebird, and really, who can resist Rockhoppers?

All the best in your surgery, Leah! How appropriate that you are able to get pics of bluebirds! For sure it will all be good, and we know that all of us have a lot to be grateful for. You are a fighter, and it can only get better! Take care!

Hugs are always welcome and appreciated, Thomma Lynn. Thanks. I never thought of myself as an inspiration, but I will now.
The bluebirds are wonderful. We only see them for a few months of the year so I try to get out and find them.

As usual, I'm late!

Good luck with the surgery, Leah. You're one brave cookie. May the bluebird of happiness alight upon your hospital bed post!
