Tuesday Twosomes--Now With Birds

Two birds share the feeder. The pretty red male house finch on the left and a junco on the right.

Tuesday again and that means I get to put up two lines I’ve written in the past week and two I’ve read.
Here we go.

Something I read:

“A pure white cat with dark blue eyes slipped out of the brambles. Inside, the noise of mewling grew louder.”
from Warriors: Into the Wild, Erin Hunter, Avon Books, 2003.
Okay, technically it was read to me as it’s our bedtime story.

Two lines I wrote this week from my current WIP A Fly on the Wall:

“He checked the mirror one more time. Satisfied that everything was fine he stepped into a darker area and made the trip back to his century.”

Many, many thanks to the Women of Mystery for the Two Sentence Tuesdays.

I want to, m. I want to read them.

Thanks, so much, df Bag Lady. The house finches are very pretty. The juncos have their charm.

It's a good idea, Tom. I'm really enjoying it.

Love the birdy pics. Reminds me I have to get more seed out.

Your two sentences are provocative in the extreme, Leah. Yay and more, please.

Lovely photo. I've only seen one house finch at my feeder so far, and was lucky enough to capture it. My juncos tend to ground feed, so it's cool to see them both in your photo. :)

Hello Clare, glad you like the birds. Thanks for your kind words about my words.

Hello Hilary, juncos commonly ground feed here, too. Last year they'd come to the feeder occasionally. This year they're at it more often. House finches tend to be quite skittish. It's a challenge to get their pictures. Good for you.

df Leah,

Wonderful sentences! When he stepped into the darker area, I expected him to pat his hair or something mundane like that, but noooo--very fine work.

Those are adorable little birds. And I like the sentences -- the ones you read and the ones you wrote!
