Shed a Tear for The Weeping Wall

The Weeping Wall

It's been such a dry year the Weeping Wall in the north end of Banff National Park is barely a trickle.

At least there is some water on it, but it's nowhere near what it should be.

Maybe we'll get some proper rain. Maybe we'll get a decent amount of snow in the mountains and then this and other waterfalls and rivers can go back to being their spectacular selves.

If you'd like to compare, here's what it looked like last year.

Please note, I made a mistake in the photo caption last year. The Weeping Wall is in Banff National Park, not Jasper National Park.

There's more trees on the middle ridge than when I last saw it. A nice deep snowfall over winter would do it, plus a cooler summer. I heard it's been hot and humid over the prairies this summer. Bit unusual.

I remember the weeping wall from when we were kids, and it was much weepier then.
How sad that it is so dry. (and how strange that we should both post about how dry it is - my post will be up tomorrow.)

Funny, I mentioned in my post too how dry your skin gets on the prairies.

We were discussing today how our weather has changed.

Great minds think alike!

Barbara, it's been weird here. Not much rain, counties declaring themselves disaster areas due to the drought, and way too hot some days. I hope we get a good, proper snowfall this winter.

dfBag Lady, the wall used to have quite a flow to it. Maybe someday it'll be that way again.

The Fifth Sparrow, yup that's exactly it.

Oh dear, what a difference between this year and last! I hope you get some good snowfall this winter to help with the drought conditions. We've been having lots and lots of rain this summer, more than usual, and I wish I could send you some!

Thank you, Thomma Lyn. I wish you could, too.

That's a sad comparison. I hope you get your rainfalls soon.
