Reflections of a Dulled Mind

Every once in a while my usually incisive brilliant razor sharp adequate mind takes itself on a holiday. Good for it.
It leaves a facsimilie behind to carry on with the heavy lifting of getting me out of bed and through the day. Sadly, that's about all it does.
This appears to be the case now as I am currently enjoying the intellectual capacity of a potato. No, I withdraw that. No slagging of spuds here.
In a way it's good. I am not bothered by deeper thoughts. Or any thoughts really.
It's a nice break once I adjust to it.
It's been a few days. I've yet to adjust.
I look at this picture I took a few months ago and know, just know, it deserves something. It's a "no campfire" sign surrounded by lake water.
I got nuthin'.
I take comfort in knowing my mind will return shortly with tall, exciting tales of adventures had without me.
I hope it hurries back. I miss it.

Oh, I don't know. You, dull, are still sharper than 90% of the rest of us!

And as to the picture? It totally speaks for itself. Cracked me right the hell up!! :)

Thanks, dfBag Lady.
Glad you liked the pic.

I agree. The picture needs nuttin, and "brilliance" tends to come in fits and starts in my experience, much like nature. Regulated spigots are for small minds and gas stations.

Thank you so much, Clare2e. I feel better about my vacancy.

If you figure out where your mind has been hiding, can you check to see if mine is there too? It's gone missing.

Perhaps there's a Brain Bar somewhere, where our higher intellect is off having fun without us.

I'll ask, Crabby. And I wouldn't put it past either of them to be out on the town like that.

As the author of the most boring blog in the world, I never had many thoughts to begin with, so you still have me beat. Especially with that picture.

Messymimi, I don't think your blog is all that boring. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Glad you enjoyed the pic.

THe picture nicely represents _my_ state of mind. Nothing on fire here....

Actually I liked this photo of a campfire sign in the middle of water. I feel exactly like that sign at the moment, but this too shall pass eventually.

Leah J. Utas said...

Mary Anne, I understand.

Barbara, oh my. That sounds interesting.

I understand, Leah. Hang in there -- you'll get it back, and for now, just rest and recharge, because when you're feeling sparky again, you'll spark all the more.

I'm in a sparky period right now, but before my current sparky period, my brain was at the Brain Bar for quite some time. I'm glad to have it back, and I hope it stays! ;)

Thanks, Thomma Lyn. If it comes back as refreshed and sparky as yours did, then it will be worth the wait.

Love the photo! Know the feeling... I've missed mine now for so long, I may not recognise it when it comes back.

Leah J. Utas said...

Thanks, Reb. I'm sure your mind will recognize you.

Great post! This is very helpful. I'm sure I'd visit your site more often. Anyway, you can drop by my favorite online hang out too, at UK Student Community. Thanks!

So kind of your brain to leave your sense of humour behind though.. that's as sharp as ever. :)

Oh, thank you so much, Hilary.
