WooHoo!

As of today I get to stop taking rat poison.
I was surprised--pleasantly so and then some-- to learn this morning that according to the assorted tests my heart is pumping normally and the speed is well within normal range.
I'll be on other meds to maintain this and will likely stay on them. Y'know what? So what!
My heart is working and that's what matters.
I can eat more cauliflower and broccoli and can have some sauerkraut. I can start taking ginkgo biloba again. I can have all the green tea and pistachios I want so bring on the baklava.
A few months ago my cardiologist said I needed another ablation. It would appear that has changed.
I intend to celebrate. I'm not sure how, but there'll be garlic involved, lots and lots of garlic as I had to restrict the intake of that, too.
Okay, I am stupideasy to please, I know. But this is good news and I am tickled silly.
In place of the Warfarin I will take a low dose Aspirin (R) every day.
Life is good.

Congrats! This is very good news. Rat poison is not very festive.

Hooray!

I had no idea how many tasty healthy things you had to give up because of the drugs. Seems so unfair!

Great news. I'll have to have extra garlic too to celebrate.

Yes, it was, Crabby. I had to watch my Vitamin K intake and that's chiefly the cabbage family.
Thanks for the show of solidarity with the garlic celebration.

Take the food in moderation as your body has adjusted while you took the warfarin.

I've been on warfarin for ten years, and will be on it the rest of my life as my body produces too many clots. When I found out I wasn't to eat those foods because they make the blood healthy, I found I could eat a little of them on alternating days without much reaction except for the ginko or green tea which I have to avoid like the plague or my left leg swells rapidly (DVT).

Take care and I'll be eating those veggies right along with you.

Good point, Barbara. I have had a bit, but I want my body to rid itself of as much as possible. My INR had been high (3.3) about a week earlier so I was eating more Vit K than usual already.
Glad you can control the DVT.
I'll think of you when I go back on the gingko and be reminded how grateful I am that I can have it.
