Gratitude Monday -- Can You See The Difference?

Of course you can!

Several weeks ago I found myself on the receiving end of a minor rear-ender. It was icy, my brakes failed, and the gentleman behind me bumped into me. It was a low speed affair.
He cussed me out briefly while admitting my brake lights were on and turn signal engaged, then changed his tune and we got matters sorted out.

I got a few estimates and thought about getting the work done. I'll want to sell said vehicle someday and this sort of thing torques down the value. I let it go a few weeks as there was no hurry.
My husband decided recently that he could fix it for me so he made a quick trip to Canadian Tire for the materials, ordered the matching paint, and set about the work.

It's as good as done. All it needs is some clear coat protector which is on the way.
I am grateful for a number of things. It was a minor accident from which all parties drove away, damage was minimal and cheap to fix ourselves, and my husband cared enough to do it and to do a darned fine job of it.

Two things you may want answered:

The border around the license plate was put on upside down at the dealership when I got the car eight years ago. My husband put it on properly when he put the plate back on the other day.
The vanity plate is because I was a reporter for 20 years.

The repair looks terrific - I would've never guessed there had been any damage.

Happy Monday!

Wow, what a great repair job! And love the vanity plate.

I'm very grateful too that it was only a minor accident.

Excellent job - but I wouldn't have expected otherwise from Mike! He's very talented and meticulous!

Bunnygirl, he did an amazing job. Happy Monday, to you too.

Crabby, nice to see you about. Thank you. I'm really quite vain abut my vanity plate.

Carla, glad to hear it. I always found the pun of the plate was fun and kept me from getting too full of myself.

Bag Lady, we posted together. Yes, he is and I am so grateful for it.
We were behind a car in Red Deer recently that had been home repaired. The bumper was all wrinkly from duct tape. The paint matched so it wasn't a total horror, but it was enough of a horror.

Glad no one was hurt in the accident. Even though your brakes failed, he's the one at fault for "following too closely." Luckily, it seems that all has worked out, and you got your license plate cover turned right-side up!
Love the vanity plate!

Hello Kathleen, I think he realized it was his fault as he was in the process of cussing me out and that's why he calmed down right away. Also, it was witnessed by two store staffers who greeted me a few moments later with, "You know it was his fault, right?"
Thanks re: the plate.

That's so true, Messymimi.

A good man in your life is truly something to be grateful about. A well repaired car is too.

And the fact that it was just a minor prang. Much to be grateful for MsQuote.

Yes to all those points, Dawn.

Yup, you absolutely anticipated my questions. I'm very glad it was minor too. Body repair is an entirely different thing when it's the human body. Mike did a great job.
