Gratitude Monday--Morning in Cairo

Smoke and pollution greet the morning in Cairo.

On this Monday I am grateful for a great many things, mostly being home.
I'll narrow things down. We are blessed to have clean, fresh air in this country.
Cairo is noisy and polluted and this time of year the farmers are burning the cane fields.
The haze may lift in the afternoons, but I can't say that I ever felt clean there.
I'm so glad to have the clean, country air in my lungs again.

The street lights look so much more at home in that haze than that poor palm.

I agree with you - we are so lucky in this country to have all the things we do!

I'm grateful you are back safe. There's nothign like travel to make you appreciate how good we have it here.

Mary Anne, I felt sorry for the vegetation. It has no voice.

Bag Lady, yes. Clean air, safe drinking water. All the things we take for granted.

Laurita, thank you. You are so right.

That's one thing they don't tell you in the travel brochures, do they?

Enjoy your country air.

We tend to forget how good we have it here.. unless of course "here" is of no help to get you out of "there." Still, I'm glad you're back safe and sound.

My first thought was, how beautiful, then I read your caption and choked. It is still beautiful, but would be better if it were just morning fog.

We are very lucky to live where we do and I am very glad you are back home.

Strange how that's omitted, Messymimi.

Yup, Hilary. And thanks.

Reb, haze has its charms. Thanks.

Nothing like a spot of travel to show you just how good home is!

Leah J. Utas said...

You've got that right, Dawn.

I was going to say exactly what Dawn said. Whenever I go away it seems so much nicer to be home.
I too am grateful you are back!

It really puts home in perspective, Dawn. Thanks.

Western Canada still has clean air. Greater Toronto could do with cleaning up its air.

I haven't had the pleasure of Toronto's air, Barbara, but I'd venture it's still healthier than Cairo's.

I sure do appreciate the clean air here.
