Signs of Life on the Mountainside

We saw a few crocuses during our mountain walk on Easter Sunday.
These are my favourite flowers. They're pretty and they confirm to me that spring, and a new warm season of life, is well and truly here.

They're properly  known as a Prairie Anemone, Anemone patens, but we know them as crocuses and that's what I call them.

They are here.
And so is spring.

A splash of colour after and long and cold winter is always a great feeling. Nice photo, Leah.

I love crocuses, too, but it's been years since I've seen one actually blooming. Thanks for sharing!

Great work finding the beauty in the drab. And so glad more is on the way. We deserve it;)

Thanks, Messymimi.

Bag Lady, they're getting quite shy.

Thanks, Dawn. Yes, we do!

They are pretty, aren't they, Bossy Betty?

David, I am blessed to live so near the Rocky Mountains.

Reb, my pleasure.

They're fuzzy! How adorable, they have little fur jackets to keep them warm when they bloom so early.
