Gratitude Monday --An Aeire Sight

An eagle on the nest at Medicine Lake
During our adventures on the long weekend we did a bit of fishing. No luck, but that's beside the point. Being out in the canoe is treat enough.
This time we got a special treat as we saw a nest with an eagle sitting in it.
I had my Olympus 810 with me so the photo is only adequate, but it is a photo and I am grateful I got a picture. I am even more grateful that we got to see the eagle.

Seeing an eagle is just the best experience. My wife snapped a few luck shots and I've been meaning to get them up for PFF.

It sounds like the two of you had my kind of weekend: the relaxing kind.

Yes, it sure is, David. I'm looking forward to your wife's eagle pics.
It had the potential to be relaxing, but it was our first time out with the RPOD and we were learning what can--and does--go wrong.

When we go to Florida each year, there are nest boxes on the power line poles, and each year we see eagles up there, and occasionally a baby looking down over the edge of a nest. It is a sight i never tire of seeing.

Have a great week!

Messymimi, how wonderful to see eagles every year. Hope your week is great.

Me, too, Bag Lady. Thanks.

Eagles are one of those critters I never get tired of seeing. I wouldn't say we see them frequently, but we're usually good for a few sightings every year.

Julia and I are taking up fly fishing this summer. I expect a lot of fun.

Chris, a few eagle sightings a year is all I ask.
Have fun with the fly fishing. I've tried it. I'm no good, but I might get out for a few practices later on.

Reb, it was good in many ways.

Eagles in flight take your breath away. Problem is, they don't vacation much here in socal... When I lived near the beach, the pelicans were fun to watch...

Ron, sad that you don't get eagles there.

Nice. I'm longing to take my canoe out. A bonus you got to see that sight.

I hope you get on the water soon, Dawn.

WOnderful shot.. and experience. Frank and I have been so lucky to see a bald eagle nesting for two summers now.. and have seen the fledglings soaring for the past couple of summers. They're an amazing sight... one we never tire of.
