Photo-Finish Friday--Discarded Tourist Attraction
This is an unfinished obelisk. A great deal of work was done on it a long time ago.
It was left in the quarry after a flaw was discovered.
It's rose granite, and even incomplete it is magnificent.

That's amazing. You've seen so many interesting things. Lucky you!
That's amazing.
What a disappointment it must have been when they realized it was flawed.
Wow.. that's quite the piece. You must spend so much of your travels in awe.
Laurita, it is and I am.
Bag Lady, it happened twice. The first flaw they got shed of, but there was no working away the second one.
Hilary, there comes a point where I wonder if I can process anything else.
That's incredible. Your traveling wonders never cease.
Interesting facts.
Dawn, I hope they never do.
Amazing how even their least work they did with such quality. No wonder it still draws us today.
They were perfectionists, Messymimi.
That is wonderful. I like how the currant safety branch of the gov't has painted the chains and posts so they are not a glaring intrusion on the scene.
Reb, they're smart enough not to ruin the ruins.
Very glad you got to see that. Very glad I did not work there.

Thank you, Mary Anne.
I don't think I'd want to work there, either.
