Verify Everything, Even Comments

Verify every adventure. It keeps us safe. Pic is of Columbia Icefield, Jasper National Park.

Ah, what a day.
Tiger's transgressions have taken over the news including above the fold on the Edmonton Journal's front and most of page A3, our neighbouring province to the east is looking at banning smoking in vehicles with kids in them, and I've had to turn on word verification.

I do not care about Mr. Woods and his alleged messing around. It is not news.
Saskatchewan can do what it wants, but bans of this nature go too far. As long as smoking is a legal activity one should pursue it in or on one's own property unmolested by government.

As for verification, well, I've had it. Tuesday's post has a good long comment from Anonymous all about making money. Why, Anon even thoughtfully added an address for me to click to in order to read more.
I've suggested a popular vacation hotspot for Anonymous.

I am sorry to have to use the fill in box, but such is the nature of the big world.

I understand. I've found turning the filter on for a couple weeks discourages them for another few months. I flip on and off every once in awhile.

David, I am looking at doing just that. I'd rather not have it on.

I hate having to do that, but finally had to do it myself. I also just delete them as soon as I see one.

Deleting is a good way to handle it, Nancy. I keep them, usually, simply because it reminds me to be careful talking to strangers.

Love the photo, sad to see the ice has receded so much though.

Too right about the gov't sticking it's nose in too far.

Why do companies think they can advertise on other peoples blogs? Ah well, a little extra typing doesn't hurt too much.

Thanks, Reb. I remember when the toe of the glacier covered where those people are standing and then some. Sad, sad, world.

Y'know, if we're so against smoking, then we should make it illegal. We won't, of course, because there's too much money in it.

dfLeah - I, too, had to turn on the word verification because I was getting spammed. It's a sad reality.

And I agree with you - if they make cigarette smoking illegal, they can intervene in where and how people are allowed to smoke, but until such time as they do, they should stay the hell out of people's homes and vehicles! Sheesh. Don't the police have enough to do without having to worry about whether someone is smoking around their children?

I held out as long as I could, df Bag Lady.

As to the smoking, leave it up to the individual. Simple as that. What next? Smokers banned from lighting up in their own homes?
The government is too gutless and greedy to take any real action.

One of the advantages I have as writer of the most boring blog in the world is that no one even bothers to spam me!

Regulating what we do in and on our own property bugs the tar out of me, too.

Your blog's not boring, Messymimi.
