I'm getting a wee bit lonesome for green.
Winter is a fine time of year and I am so very glad to live in a climate where there's a clear distinction between the seasons. But I could do with seeing fresh new life poking its way out of the warming ground.
It's going to be awhile yet before we see any plant younglings so I decided to put up a summer photo to remind me that life will return.
And here's a bonus because I like to look at mountains.
Both photos are taken along the David Thompson Highway (Hwy. 11) in or near Banff National Park.

I'm a wee bit lonesome myself.
What I wouldn't give for one shoot of green.
Mountains are lovely.
Sometimes the distinct season of winter stays a bit too distinct and for too long.
Party at my place when the green appears.
Bring your pie;)
Beautiful photos. That's such a gorgeous part of the country. I'm longing for green too. Not holding my breath though.
Dawn, winter does wear out its welcome at times.
Pie Party!
Calling Shotgun, thanks. The green will get here eventually. Hope that helps.
Oh funny because I was tempted to do the same, myself but decided to tough out the winter photos just a bit longer.
Mind you, if I'd had beautiful mountain pics like these, I'd have given in to that temptation. Lovely.
Hilary, there'll be plenty of time for winter pics. I needed something warm and alive today. Thanks.
Thanks for these. Winter is keeping a stranglehold on things here too, but there are buds on the bushes outside at least.
I double clicked, to get a full screen of green ;) Sadly my nose is too stuffed to smell the fresh mountain air today :(
Two fantastic photos, Leah. I was just saying today that I'm a bit fed up of cold and sleet now, although we have crocuses and snowdrops in our garden. Roll on summer, if we get one.
Ah, but just imagine the excitement the day that you discover that first brave shoot pushing through. There will be a photo of that for sure.
We're at the other end - just starting to see the first hint of autumn yellow on the trees.
Chris, you're welcome. Good to hear about the buds.
Reb, at least the sight was a help. Sorry to hear about the nose.
David, ahhh, crocus always says spring to me.
Dawn, I am so looking forward to that first brave shoot. Are you looking forward to the change of season?
