"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
-Hamlet, Act One, Scene Five
This above all: to thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” - (again with the Hamlet)
This is the fountain in the great alabaster mosque of Mohammed Ali in Cairo.
We had to take our shoes off, or buy protective coverings for them, before we set foot in the courtyard as it led into the mosque proper.
The marble beneath our feet was quite cool.

That is some very fine architecture, Leah. And all that for a world heavyweight boxing champion! Ha!
Another great photo!
Thanks, David.
Ha ha.
Incredible place. Love the idea of cool marble floors.
Wish everyone that came in my house would wear clean shoes or coverings;)
Have a great weekend.
Impressive as hell.
That is so beautiful. Any explanation for the metal bars between the columns?
Dawn, it was awe-inspiring.
David, agreed.
Reb, I don't know.
Beautiful.
Wonderful structure. Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us photographically. It's the next best thing to being there.
Chris, yes.
