A New Benchmark

My husband likes to keep himself busy. His latest project is a carved bench.
Rather than me explain I'll let his work speak for itself.
Please note the bench still needs to be painted.

Mr. Slivovitz and Mr. Utopian anchor the sides.
A close up of the intricate design work.

That's great. Talent AND a sense of humor, eh?

Of course I had equal eyes for the canoe in the background. It's the Le Voyageur in me, I guess. You can't have a French/Indian name like mine and not have a healthy dose of that in the veins, you know. Heh.

Bag Lady, the Thompson;'s Water Seal on it has to cure for 45 days. It'l be mid-July before he can finish it.

Chris, thanks, And yes, he has ample servings of both.
The canoe is our old one. It is heavy as all get out and very stable. He's had it for at least 25 if not 30 years.

Your husband is a very talented artist. I love this.
I came from Dawn's blog I just wanted to read a blog with the name you chose. It is worth the look. Great stuff. B B

At first I was worried that painting might ruin the subtle expressions of the end-pieces, but after studying the enlargement closely, I believe I'll trust him.
