Gratitude Monday --Waterfalls

Waterfall along Premier Lake, B.C.

Waterfalls are wonderful things. The sound of rushing water is soothing and relaxing. It softens a mood. And even as it calms it gives a boost.
Plus, they are pretty.
Even the smallest, meanest bit of running water has its own beauty.
I can live without a great many things, but it wouldn't be the same without waterfalls.

I'm so with you on the mental health benefits of the sound of rushing water, which is probably why we've ended up living on two coasts.

The only exception is plumbing emergencies--that's when rushing water is NOT a soothing sound. We had a pipe burst behind a wall once... oops, pulse quickening, must think of calm soothing tides and waterfalls again.

Thanks for the pics!

Crabby, I sympathize with the burst pipe issue. Not good.
You're welcome.

Waterfalls are a favourite of mine too. A perfect example of nature that restores one's soul.

I just love a great waterfall!

I couldn't agree more. We have a stream with two small waterfalls right outside our window. I love it. I actually think it is healing.

I completely agree! There is something stress relieving when near the sound of falling water. Have you been to Siffleur Falls yet?

So true, Barbara.

I thought you might, Betty.

Nancy, how wonderful. I agree about it being healing.

So true, Dawn. Not yet this year, but I've done the walk several times.
It's a favourite.

I think the sound of moving water speaks to some very primitive part of us, the part that knows that without water we'll die, and hearing water means we can find some.

Lovely waterfall Leah. I find if they are too loud (Athabasca Falls) I start going deaf. It's okay for a short time though.

Thanks, Reb. It can be hard to hear over the sound of the rushing water, but blocking out talk is a bonus in my world.

If i could be certain my house wouldn't flood (this place makes me a bit skittish on that), i would love to live near a waterfall.
