It seems to be about the only time lately as errands and whatnot stretch out to take up most of the rest of the day.
Here's a bit of conversation Merelani is having with her daughter Eury:
" 'You haven't been interested in hunting anything. Is the silver tea working too well for you?' "
We're still reading Heidi (Johanna Spyri, Witman Publishing Company MCMXLIV, and MCMLV)as our bedtime story:
" On the fourth day, the cold was so bitter that it crackled with every footstep outdoors. Heidi, as she sat on her high stool eating her dinner, began her little speech again: "
Mountains and turkey vultures near sunset, for atmosphere. |

Cool lines from BloodLovers!
And I remember those lines from Heidi!! Although it has been many, many years since I read it, I loved it so much, I read it over and over.
Thanks, Bag Lady. I read it many times, too. The description of the wind in the fir trees always gets me.
"Silver tea" intrigues me.
My sympathy on the errands and whatnot. That's what seems to eat my day, too. Driving Bigger Girl for two hours a day just to get her to work and back eats into everything.
Heidi is one of those books i was always sad to finish, i wanted the story to go on.
Good to know your interest is piqued, Messymimi.
Thanks. Life sure does get in the way, doesn't it?
As for Heidi, I hate to leave that world.
Aren't mornings the best for accomplishing?
I too am intrigued by "silver tea".
Is it available to us "average" humans?
Do you keep Silver tea on hand for visitors? Hmm, I wonder if it would work...oh, um, never mind ;)
Dawn, I'm an old farm girl up with the sun. Mornings are the best time of the day.
Reb, not normally.
I'm glad I've piqued some interest. Without giving anything away the silver tea is a plot point based on colloidal silver. It's available, and even has some uses in cookery. I really can't recommend it for regular folk.
I loved Heidi!
I always enjoy these little windows into your writing, Leah. And can't wait to buy the finished product when the time comes.
Glad to meet another one, Nancy.
David, I appreciate hearing it.
Never seen a turkey vulture roosting. It's mildly startling. I guess I half-imagined they soared constantly.
Sorry to startle you, Frank. I was going to post a pic of one in flight, but then I saw yours.
