Christmas at the Dump
One of our Christmas traditions is to go for a drive to look for birds. Our goal is to find Bald Eagles and yesterday was a grand success.
My husband has had to visit the dump courtesy his job on several occasions lately. He has seen Bald Eagles there many times so we decided it would be the best place to go.
We saw three of the magnificent creatures. Skittish as they are we still managed to get a few photos.
It was a wonderful Christmas present.

Does Canada do the Audubon Christmas Bird Count? (I never have, so I've never paid attention to whether it's international.) That would make a great one.

That's wonderful, Leah! I'm so glad you found eagles.
Mary Anne, yes we have the bird count here. We've never participated. Frankly, it would take all the fun out of it for us.
Virginia Lee, thanks. It was an amazing gift.
We are seeing more and more where we live. They now are competing for fishing territory with the osprey and we are seeing more of those! All magnificent birds of prey.
It's good if it means they are making a comeback.
Oh beautiful! What a treat and a great Christmas tradition.
Thanks, Hilary.
A blessed holiday season to you and your husband -- i hope the New Year brings you many beautiful things to see and photograph.
Thank you, Messymimi. All the very best to you and yours.
I how you view the world and where your priorities are.
Thank you, MizCarla.
Those are great captures Leah. What a day you must have had.
Thanks, Reb. It was a wonderful experience. Trust me, if you want wildlife pics, go to a dump.
