We had a tour of the country and arrived back in Cairo January 28 to scenes of riot police, tear gas, marches, and smoke.
Here are some photographs Mike took on what is now known as the Friday of Anger.

Since those type of event can grow into something much worse, I wonder if you were worried if you would be able to leave the country on time,
Tabor, we weren't worried at all. We couldn't leave on our scheduled flight because it was at night and there was a curfew.
We were there an extra 2-3 days.
To be in the middle of such an event was really amazing. Thanks for these reminders of how it was four years ago.
DJan, it was amazing. I got to inhale the tear gas of the revolution.
What an opportunity! To see people crying out for freedom!
Messymimi, I consider it one of the high points of my life. I would not trade it for anything.
I remember that you were there during all of that unrest. It just doesn't feel as long as four years ago. What an experience.
It doesn't seem that long ago. At all.

Hilary and Mary Anne, it seems barely a year ago to me.
