Today I am grateful for my crockpot.
I've had it for about two dozen years. It was a gift from my MIL and it has served me well.
Yesterday we decided to see an afternoon showing of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and I decided having dinner ready and waiting when we got home was a good idea.
I fired up the trusty crockpot and by about 9 a.m. lazy cabbage rolls were snuggled in and cooking.
I am grateful I have it and that it works well.
Oh, and dinner was delicious.
I am grateful for that, too.

Our crockpot sits accusingly in a far corner of a cupboard I rarely venture into, suck a clever contraption, I always THINK I'm going to use it soon.
I even clicked on your post label "lazy cabbage rolls" thinking an easy recipe might lurk behind it, that's how inspiring you are. But no go so I'm off the hook. Close call.
I am particularly grateful for mine as summer approaches because it doesn't heat up the kitchen the way the stove does. However, since I am lucky enough to come home for lunch, I am tortured by the smell of supper when I come home at one. Even if lunch is very good.
Crabby, you want easy? Get a chicken. Put it in the pot. Throw some garlic on it, powder if you don't feel up to peeling garlic cloves. And a little salt. Pour some bottled lemon juice over it. Cook on low for ten hours. Don't try to eat it with your fingers because it will fall right off the bones.

The crock pot is the working person's best friend in the kitchen!
Crabby, I didn't post a recipe because I didn't use one and I rarely keep track of what I do.
Mary Anne, that sounds amazing.
Messymimi, it sure is.
