The mountain bluebirds are back and I am grateful.
On Saturday my husband and I went out to the Kootenay Plains --west of Rocky toward the Banff Park gate--to look for bluebirds, a favourite sign of spring.
We had 16 sightings though they were likely the same six birds spotted over and over. That doesn't matter. They're here and we saw them.

I feel the same way when I spot the first robin in spring!
I love that area of Canada as it makes life so dramatic. I hate the tourists though...and that is true even when I am one.
Gives me hope down here in Kentucky where it snowed yesterday (no accumulation, though.)
