We went out for a drive on Saturday. We originally went north to check out an eagle's nest atop a high voltage tower, but no one was home yet.
So we drove south to where we'd seen eagles in the past.
On the way we found these two moose sunning themselves.

good gosh I adore your blog.
such a breath of fresh air (pun intended) and Ive been writing etc.long enough to know that what looks like an EASY POST means it must have taken eons.
Great photos, dfLeah! Love moose - they are so ungainly, but can really cover ground when they want to.
Happy Gratitude Monday. I would be grateful if the video that I spent hours working on lately would load onto my blog. Sigh.
And as soon as I typed that - it finally DID! Now I really am grateful!! :)
Carla, that's wonderful to hear.
You're right. Sometimes the short or easy ones require the most work. I'm grateful for the understanding, and I'm grateful that this particular post came together fairly easily.
dfBag Lady, moose are the best! Their legs seem so disproportionate to their bodies, but they really move. And they do have a rugged beauty.
Glad your video post worked.
Love this post! Thanks for always sharing your fantastic finds in nature. It's so great to read your blog and see your pics while I'm here, in this urban jungle.
Happy Monday!!

Rupal, thank you so much.
I'm glad to learn that you enjoy them so much.
How wonderful for you to come upon these majestic creatures.. and for us that you photographed them. Thanks for that.
You are welcome, Hilary. It's a pleasure to see moose and I'm thrilled to get photos.
Great shots Leah! I too am grateful that you got to see moose and shared them with us ;)
Thanks, Reb. It was a treat to see them. They were very accommodating ungulates.
Jealous. Every time my husband and I have gone to Vermont, we've looked for moose, to no avail. Obviously we were looking in the wrong woods!
Bunnygirl, that settles it. You simply have to come up here for a visit. We'll go a-moosing.
I always feel blessed whenever I happen to come across any kind of wild creature; and no less for seeing these photos of moose here. Thanks, Leah, for sharing them.
I'm glad you enjoy them, Barbara.
