Photo Finish Friday - Haunting Blue
This is Skua Glacier in the Chilean fjords. Our cruise ship went in very close to it, closer apparently than any other cruise ship had gone.
The ice formations looked like living crystals creatures. I thought I'd ventured to a cold alien world of eerie, haunting beauty.

OMG - that is gorgeous! Especially when you enlarge it - you're exactly right, it's like something alien. And cold.
Thanks, df Bag Lady. It was such a cold, beautiful spot. It's one of my favourite pics.
That is so beautiful and such a difference from the glaciers we see in the Rockies.
It sure is, Reb.
That is beautiful! Looks quiet and mysterious...
Thanks, Missicat. Mysterious is a good way to describe it.
wow. such a beautiful photo. I wonder if I will ever make it there?
I know Ill be a traveler again when the Toddler is older but some days that feels eons away.
Thanks so much, MizFit. I'm sure you'll get there.
That truly is lovely, Leah. I hope it's nothing the Tidy Bowl man had a part in. ;)
Ewww. Hilary.
Thanks. I'm glad you liked it.
Wow, absolutely breathtaking, especially enlarged. I studied it for a long time, marveling at the incredible patterns.
Thanks, TL. They really are something, aren't they?
Did it crack and growl while you were there, Leah?
No. We were so disappointed...
