Pine Block to Work of Art --The Finished Product

Before going any further my husband decided to get a professional opinion.

Here's the cougar mask ready to be varnished.

The finished product.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing the process from a block of wood to a mask. My husband spends 15 to 20 hours per project and does it for the sheer joy of working with the wood and creating. He is currently working on a bear.

I just don't know, MizFit. I'll ask. Shipping charges would be interesting.

Thanks, Tom

Wow. Mike really is incredibly talented! That mask is amazing.
What did the neighbourhood expert think of it?

That's just amazing! Who would have thought that's possible. I mean a cat giving him his professional opinion. ;)

Gorgeous, awe-inspiring work. He's a true artist. :)

His work is amazing.
Gold Collar gave the Purr of Approval, df Bag Lady.

Hilary, both Gold Collar and the other neighborhood cat, Red Collar, were full of ideas for Mike. Most ideas involved him stopping what he was doing and smooching them.
Thanks, I make sure he knows.

Great effect! Your husband really has the talent! I once was going to take a course in woodcarving, but, didn't. I'm often thinking about wood pictures, and am going to attempt putting one together one day! Thanks for showing us the carving!

Yes, he sure does, Redbush.
I think you'll enjoy wood pictures.
You won't know until you try.

Oh wow, absolutely incredible! And so much fun, seeing the process and watching the panther emerge from the block of wood.

And sounds like your husband found the purrfect professional opinion! What a gorgeous kitty. :)

I'd like to see what the bear mask looks like. How wonderful he has this ability.

Barbara, I'll see what I can do about posting it one of these days.
