Photo-Finish Friday--Wetland Edition

The wetlands are alive with new growth. This is taken along the edge of a lake. The plant on the left, with the segmented look, is horsetail.

Very cool contrast between the two!

I see where it gets its name. And, like Reb mentioned, the constrast really stands out.

That's an exceptional piece of phtography, Leah. Love it. How tall were those two and did you use 'macros' setting or just really zoom in? I'm still learning with all the settings but I find that if i zoom too much I lose the photo.

Odd to see the two so close together. As a kid I remember playing with horsetail. Nice photo!

Thanks, Reb.

David C., it is apt, isn't it?

David B., thanks. I'd say they were 12 to 15 inches high. My zoom was at 180mm (max is 250) with shutter at 1/180 and aperture at at f 11. Sensitivity at 100.
Learning is fun. Get out there and play.

Thank you, Carla. There's a magnificent world at our feet.

Thanks, Tabor. I liked how they looked together.

Messymimi, thanks. Creek edges are fascinating.

As a desert dweller, I hope you have more pics of wetlands. Enjoy looking at them through your camera.
