Gratitude Monday -- The Bench That Mike Built

The bench that Mike built.

It looks like something you'd happen upon in a forest.

Mr. Slivovitz and Mr. Utopian  would like you to join them in the garden.

Mike carved this bench. He started work in the spring. It needed some lengthy curing.
It's done now and in its rightful spot in the back yard by the garden.
I think he did a magnificent job and I am so grateful to have it.

Wow, what a wonderful addition to the garden! And I love that the carvings have such whimsical names.

I bet you will have many, many years of enjoyment out of that bench.

Thank you, Laurita.

Crabby, it is a wonderful addition. I can sit out there and enjoy the calm energy of it and the garden. Thanks.

It's marvelous! If I didn't have a list of projects longer than my arm already I'd start planning some wood carving of my own.

Very, very nice. So much better to have hand made than if you bought it at some big outdoor gardening store or something.

Could use a bench like that here in the windy desert. Pretty sure it wouldn't blow away. And those eagle heads sure look like they mean business. Tell him, great job!

Thanks, everyone,
Bag Lady, I'll pass on the kudos.
David, that's a wonderful compliment.
Mary Anne, sounds like it gave you ideas.
Chris, hand made means so much more.
Ron, he consulted plenty of photos to get the heads right.
