Gratitude Monday --Friends, Fun, and Fish

I am grateful for many things this week, and every week for that matter. We have a friends we camp with and this past weekend was our annual camping weekend.
I am grateful for the time we spend with them, for the grand company, grand food, and grand times we have.
We camped at Goldeye Lake west of Nordegg and tried our hand at fishing.
Bob, below, caught one and made trout with sorrel sauce as an appetizer.
It was good.

There's a hiking trail around the lake. Bob fished while Mike, Sylvia, and I did the trail.

Here's Mike in his natural habitat examining what he determined was a bistort.

The lake is on the edge of the mountains and far enough away from light pollution that we could see the Milky Way. I am grateful for that, too.

Sounds lovely, Leah. What a great thing to do with good friends. And what a location! Gorgeous!

I completely understand the wonder of seeing the Milky Way. I cannot see it from here, but what I do see here are more stars at night than I've seen in about five years. Peacemaking, that is.

Thank you for sharing your camping holiday with us, hon. It were lovely. xoxo

What an awesome trip! Looks so peaceful. Camping, hiking trout... doesn't get much better than that. Well, did you have some smore's? Or some other form of chocolate? I find it hard to camp without chocolate.

Now that is a good gratitude. Good friends, the great outdoors - that's what life's about.

VL, it was. I love to see the stars, as do my friends. We took a walk in the dark and marvelled at the sky.

Crabby, it was very peaceful and it's hard to beat pan fried fresh trout. No smore-ing, but we had some chocolate with maple.

Messymimi, thanks. It was wonderful.

Bag Lady, it was one of our best camping adventures.

Laurita, yes, It doesn't get much better.

Looks and sounds like a great getaway. I was struck by something you said: "Bob caught one...appetizer..."

Christmas isn't far off. Sounds like the man could use a good book. Then next summer, he'll catch enough for everybody's main course. ;)

A grand idea, Frank. I'll give it some thought.

[Hah! This time around blogger believes I have cookies enabled!]

I have lots of woods, and lots of friends, and LOTS of stars, but no fish. No fish in the pond, no fish in the creek (even when it's not dried up.) Not even fish at the grocery that's not frozen and breaded.

Mary Anne, sorry to hear about the lack of fish.
