Photo-Finish Friday -- Guatemala Street Scene

This is a quick photo I took as we passed by. It is a simple scene of people going about their daily business.
I regret I do not recall which Guatemalan town we were in at the time.

The two women, almost identically dressed, caught in the same stride, yet apparently not together, give it a wonderful mystery.

Thank you, Mary Anne.

Just such a thing as typical tourists are apt to pass by, but it is the life of the place they visit.

Interesting shot. So much going on, but at an obviously slower pace than in a more urban setting.

Messymimi, typical tourists are interested in hitting the highlights only.

Thanks, Bag Lady. It does seem slower.

I like the glimpse at a Guatemalan town, Leah.

I hope you don't mind but I got curious about whether or not I could figure out where it might be. Of course I know absolutely nothing about Guatemala or what the signs might mean but I Googled, El Tesoro and it led me to a town called Valle Nuevo. If you were there, that might be where your lovely street scene was snapped.

Hilary, I don't know if we went through there, but thanks for looking. I am very impressed with your search skills.
It certainly seems logical.

You're not from NZ so you wouldn't relate to this but every time I see or hear anything to do with Guatemala I remember a famous scene from a local soap where the nurse says, "You're not in Guatemala now, Dr. Ropata!"

Looking at the photo I finally understand the significance of the saying!

Talia, good to see you here. I understand. Glad to be of service.
