Fashion Criminal

Lime socks, because my chartreuse socks were in the wash.
Summer ends soon. This is your last week to inform the Fashion Police about me.
I wear socks with sandals. I always have. It wasn't until a few years ago I learned this was a fashion faux pas at least as bad as wearing white in winter, if not worse.
This did not stop me.
It feels good. My feet tend to be cold and, even though I like to let the fresh air and sunshine on them, naked foot skin makes me uncomfortable.
I go out in public like this. I will continue to do so for as long as it works for me.
Neither am I alone. My husband does the same thing. It is is one of the many odd and unfashionable things we have in common and I'd consider it a blessing if I cared enough to worry about it.
However, I know the socks and sandals fashion scandal comes up often. If you feel you have to do your part to erase this scourge from the face of the Earth I offer myself up.
Come and get me.

Those are some bright socks! :)

Who cares about fashion? Comfort always comes first.

I've always hated the look (and the feel, when I step into my garden clogs for a few moments outdoors in the winter) but I think lime green could reconcile me to it.

Not wearing white in the winter is practical advice where winter is full of mud....

You know that decluttering advice to get rid of anything you haven't worn in the past year? (Do they really expect me to go SHOPPING every single time I go to a wedding?) And then they say "Even if it comes back into fashion the style won't look quite the same." My clothes never go out of fashion because they were never in fashion.

Thank you for your support, Messymimi.
Laurita, bright socks for a bright day. Comfort trumps all.
Mary Anne, thanks. Fashion cycles back every 20 years or so, maybe sooner as I don't pay much attention. I say stick with the classics. They never go out of style. And neither does a personal style.

Ha.. a sandal scandal. I prefer to be closest to barefoot all summer but that's my comfort. To each his or her own. I think I need lime socks now.. for winter, of course. ;)

I wanna see the chartreuse socks!

I rarely wear sandals, and it depends on the style, but if I do wear them, I'm generally sockless. But I have a pair of those (oh dear, now everyone will know how little I care about fashion...) umm... rubbery shoes that look like clogs? Ya know? And I wear my socks in those.
Now I think I need to find some lime green socks, but only after I see the chartreuse pair. I may very well prefer them.

Bag Lady, you're on! The chartreuse socks are out of the wash and ready to go.
I need to find a good way to show them off.
Stay tuned!

Crocs? Are those the shoes in question?

I'm right there wearing socks with sandles, too. Luckily, nobody has to look at my toes!
