Gratitude Monday -- I Think

I think, and I am grateful for it.

I don't always think and that has bitten me more times than I like to think about.  But most of the time I mull stuff over before saying anything or I research a topic before having an opinion.
Generally speaking I think before I speak. This makes people fearful. They don't know what to do with someone who isn't talking over their words.
It's the silence which gets to them most, I think.
So many conversations these days are more opinion contests than anything else. There's no room in them for the person who likes to consider what was said.

Also, I am quiet by nature.
This also scares people.

The down side of this is I say what I think. If I'm not saying anything then one may logically conclude I am not thinking anything either.

That's fine with me.

It gives me more time to think, and for that, and the desire and ability to do it in the first place,  I am grateful.

Silence is rare these days, as is careful consideration before speaking.

I'm grateful you think so much!

Maybe time I did a little more of it myself... :)

Why, thank you, Crabby.

Great post Leah. How you are is what I like about you.

Awww, thanks, Greenlady.

People who deeply listen and deeply consider before adding to the discussion are rare and, to me, wonderful.

You should read the Power of the Introvert. I'm sure you'd see yourself.

Thank you, Messymimi.

Red, the book is new to me. I'll have to look for it. I'm an introvert, and I am proud.

I am an introvert, but I tend to deal with it by letting words fall out of my mouth before I have time to think; otherwise I clam up. I do have trouble not saying what I think, which is not always tactful. I am grateful that I usually manage to keep myself from saying "Your dog is fat! Stop feeding him so much!" which my job tempts me to say many times a day.

I often see some of your best qualities in Frank and vice versa, of course. He mulls a lot, also. But he just as often blurts out exactly what he's thinking. He's a Gemini. ;)

Wonderfully put, cousin.
I think I got your allotted portion of open-mouth-insert-foot genes.

You're welcome.

Oh, I do my fair share of blurting.
