Gratitude Monday

I am grateful that it’s Monday.

Why?
It means another week is about to begin. One, to paraphrase Anne of Green Gables, with no mistakes in it yet.

A positive response from a publisher could come in the mail or to my inbox. I might have a great writing week.

And, even after six years, I am still tickled that I don’t have to go to a job somewhere. My work is here. My office is in the living room and I can gaze out the window and see trees and birds, and even the occasional human going about its business.
I don’t have to dress up for work. Theoretically, I don’t have to get dressed at all, but if someone were to come to the door it’s best I be covered.

I can drop everything and bake a batch of brownies if the spirit moves me. I’ve done that in the past.
We had the computer in the basement when first started writing and I’d be down there for hours, tapping away. One day around 3 o’clock I decided I’d had such a good writing day that I deserved a reward so I went upstairs and made some brownies.
My husband can’t tolerate much chocolate so I did the decent, loving thing and ate most of them myself.

Anyway, another week is in front of me. I can write, or not. I can read or go for walks or a bike ride weather permitting.

I can take time to meditate or do a self-hypnosis and allow the altered state to carry me gently and logically into a really good nap.

I’m well and healthy and have a good life and a new week has opened to enjoy it.

How about you?

Gratitude Monday - sounds like a great idea to me. In the old days they had a poem for home-makers (Monday is washday, Tuesday is ironing, etc), so let's make a modern-day ditty. You start...
I have to confess, though, I always do laundry on Mondays.

Excellent notion, Bag Lady. Not sure if I can carry out my part of its execution beyond what I've got already.
Monday is for gratitude ..
Okay, who's next?
Mike always did laundry on Friday morning. Now that I've taken it over I do it whenever it looks like it needs doing.

Oh, just rub it in, wouldja?

I am grateful, though, to be on the other side of 1 pm, since my work hours are 7-4. If I don't have to stay late, I'll be off to the gym in less than 3 hours! Yay!

And my new futon cover comes today!

And my boss is about to leave for a meeting, meaning she won't be able to dump any new projects on me for the next couple of hours.

I've got a new creative project going on at home-- not a writing project, but some Fun With PhotoShop stuff that might result in some artwork for my home.

And my book promo items are on the way. Now I just need a few more book sales so I have someone to give them to.

And like you, I'm healthy and have a good life.

So in all, there's plenty to be grateful for, and if Fate/God/The Gods are willing, there will be a lot more to come!

Oh-- and Friday is laundry day for me. I don't workout on Fridays since Saturday is long run day. With no scheduled workout, I have time to do the wash and go grocery shopping.

By Friday I've always got lots of stinky workout clothes, anyway, so it's for the best.

Bunnygirl - congrats on the new futon cover and the book promo items. I know the book sales will follow.
Have fun the Photoshop stuff. I am lost when it comes to that sort of thing.

I love the idea of a new week starting "with no mistakes in it yet!"

Monday=clean slate. I like that!
