Gratitude Monday - Truth in Advertising?

I’m glad I have a sense of humor. It helps me to see the funny side of things and that always makes for a better day.

I prefer to laugh with people rather than at them. The former is gentle and helps us to get along. The latter is small and mean-spirited. I still do it sometimes, but I know it’s wrong.

We went for a drive north of town yesterday and found this sign at the turnoff to a community hall:

I wonder how it went?

ok.

proud mama moment ahead which is entirely boring to all other than me (and my husband) I surmise.

this weekend my almost3 year old made me first joke. the first time she assembled words together in a humorous attempt.

it TOTALLY MADE MY WEEKEND as I love to watch her little brain develop and, IMO, there's no better trait than the ability to laugh.

with others.

at yourself.

happy monday!

A "fun free" dance! I've been to some of those. It's great you captured that photo.

We actually went out dancing both days this weekend (these are "tea dances" that start at 4pm and end at 7pm; perfect for old farts).

Goodness my knees are sore but we had a blast. This was not the fun-free sort of dance. Great music, the floor was packed with people of all ages, and everyone was dancing and singing along with the music.

Definitely something to feel grateful for!

Everyone needs a little fun free in their lives!!!

Gosh, wish I could have gone dancing... it's been ages!

MizFit, that's wonderful. A sense of humor and the ability to makes jokes are wonderful traits and I've always believed an indicator of good intellect.

Crabby, glad to learn your dances weren't fun free. It sounds like like a good time. I'm not a dancer, but if I were I'd want something like that.

dfBag Lady, I hope you get dancing soon, and I hope it's not a fun free one.

df Leah,

Without humor we'd all be dull and grouchy. Yuk!

dfTerrie, You're absolutely right.

dfTerrie - in other words, we'd be fun free....?

*snort* Does it mean it is free of fun? Or do you get the fun for free, rather then being charged for it? Either way, it's funny!

Laugh with not at! I like it!

Another view, thanks Missicat.
Yes we would, dfBag Lady.
Thanks, M.

Since being betrayed by my body's metabolic rate, resulting in a weight (in pounds) that starts with a "2" - all dancing has become fun-free for me.

Lumbering though! Now there's a fun-filled activity! ;)

I've had a few fun free times, but never at a dance - that's just wrong!

Leah J. Utas said...

Frank, sorry to hear your body has betrayed you. I've had similar things happen.

Reb, it does seem wrong, doesn't it?

I had to read the sign a couple of times to get it, but once it clicked in it was hilarious. I wonder if they had any sugar free and fat free snacks at the fun free dance?

Leah J. Utas said...

Polly, good point. Why stop at fun free?

LOL, love your post and the comments! A "fun free" dance -- now that's an interesting concept! Been to one of those in my life, actually, many years ago :-P.

Anyone ever waltzed (I'm giving away my age here) with someone who has never waltzed before and doesn't know which foot to start with?

That's fun free! As my bruised feet can testify.

Leah J. Utas said...

TL, thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. How about those fun free dances?
Dawn, sorry to hear your fun free dance wasn't pain free.

Maybe it's my Pollyanna self, but like missicat, I read more like, "The fruit punch is $5, but the fun is all free!"

A happy nice way to view it, Clare2e.
