Photo Finish Friday - Beard and Toes

Our day trip to Kananaskis gave us many fuzzy sights from the furry creatures I posted earlier to these flowers we found growing near the Ptarmigan Circe Trail, deep in Kananaskis Country.
They're called pussytoes and it's easy to see why.

One almost expects they'd flex and send out some claws.

Here's another view of them.

As you can see they've surrounded a Slender Blue Beard-Tongue.

I hope you like the pretty, fuzzy flowers. Please remember to click, enlarge, and enjoy.

Oooh, I never even heard of these! So cool you captured them for us all to enjoy.

Crabby, you are welcome. If I hadn't married a man with a botany degree all my photos would say "pretty flower."

I've seen the pussytoes before but never knew what they were called. Now when I see them again I'll remember you and they'll be forever known as Leah's pussytoes.

Barbara, I'm flattered. Thank you.

One of our customers this afternoon was a bearded man in sandals...so when the page loaded I was glad to see you hadn't been lurking outside.

I've seen pussytoes before but the beardstongue is new to me and just gorgeous.

Glad you like the beard-tongue. It was so pretty among the pussytoes.
