Gratitude Monday -- A Nice, Fresh Year to Play With

Athabasca Lookout in the Sandhills east of Ft. Assiniboine, Alberta.

Here it is, 2010, a nice fresh year to play with. A whole year with no mistakes in it, to paraphrase the title character of Anne of Green Gables.
Resolutions? Nah. Not as such, anyway.
Rather than resolve to do anything concrete or set any goals or give myself things to achieve I decided instead to go about it like this:
I'll take the year as it comes and try not to mess up too badly.
If I do mess up too badly, then I'll take the consequences as they come.
Whatever comes down the pike, I'll be grateful for the experience of it.
And you?

Sounds like a fine plan, Leah. I love your new header.. a perfect way to illustrate the passage into a new year.

Thanks so much, Hilary. That tunnel is one of my favourite local sights.

Great plan, cousin!

I am not exactly starting off with a bang - slept in this morning and am running late for work. I know, I know, what the heck am I doing on the computer..........?

Whoosh.....

Thank, df Bag Lady.
Hope the rest of your day goes better than the start.

I love that tunnel pic. I'm not big on New Year resolutions because I figure anything worth resolving is worth committing to at any time. Any day can be the beginning of a new year.

Thanks, Bunnygirl. I agree with your take on resolutions. If you're going to do it, then do it.

Good plan!

And I like the notion of a fresh year to play with. Sounds much more fun than a bunch of resolutions.

Thanks, Crabby. 'Resolutions' sounds kind of stuffy and workish to me. I'm more likely to get better mileage with 'play.'

I like your idea, and agree we should practice gratitude for the good in our lives, no matter the circumstances.

I still would be more grateful if this year's experiences do not include too many more repair bills...

Thanks, Messymimi. I hope you don't have too many repairs. OTOH, you got something to be repaired which is better than not having it and fixing may be cheaper than buying new. Dunno if that helps.

Good plan..I am just going to work at doing better this year than last and see how it goes.

Thanks, Reb. Your plan sounds good, too.

Like the tunnel, too, and though I'm still too fuzzy-brained to consider my resolutions or goals or even games, I LOVE the word Athabasca. So there.

Love the new header to your blog and, as always, your attitude.

With all thats happening around me I am merely THANKFUL to be here.

Leah J. Utas said...

Clare, thanks. Athabasca is the name of the river that runs by Fort Assiniboine.

Thanks, Miz. Being here is a good start.
