Photo-Finish Friday - - United Still Stands

The United Church in Fort Assiniboine, Alberta, has been around a long time.
I was baptized in it and I attended services until I stopped going to church at age nine.
If memory serves the year Fort Assiniboine celebrated it's 150th anniversary the church celebrated it's 25th year.
By extrapolation, I'll suggest that turns 62 years old this year.
It's looking pretty good.

That picture is the start of an amazing YA novel set in the 1950s.

Carla, I didn't think about it, but you're absolutely right.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I, too, was baptized in that particular church (but I have no clear recollection!)
Great photo, cousin!

Thanks, Cousin, It would be reasonable to conclude you were.

It doesn't look a day over forty - nary a sag to its steeple.

And I agree with Carla. :)

Hilary, it's held up well.

Well, I know I wasn't baptised in that church, don't know what the delay was, but I was old enough (7-8?) to remember it at the church in GP.

It looks good though..a few shingles replaced and will be good as new ;)

I like visiting well cared for old churches. I get a sense of peace there I rarely find anywhere else.

This looks like one I would want to visit someday.

It does seem to be holding up, Reb.
I'll refrain from any comment on your late baptism.

Messymimi, it's a peaceful setting.
