"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
-Hamlet, Act One, Scene Five
This above all: to thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” - (again with the Hamlet)
They are really amazing to come upon. We found several on the California coast and realized how big they were right after about four of them took flight right over our heads. Wow.
The last few years I've seen a lot of Turkey vultures in southern Ontario - but never that close. There were always hovering, rather hopefully it seemed, way up there.
Nice to see what they actually look like. Thanks, Leah.

Great photos, cousin! (David's comment cracked me up!)
LOL, David.
Thanks, cousin.
Wow. What great photos. I am a horrible photographer and I admire people who are artistic with a camera.
Mary
Aww, Mary, thanks.
Beautiful!
Thanks, Reb.

Amazing creatures, with a dirty job to do, that they dispatch with a savage elegance that you have captured well.
They've got quite the wingspan, Nancy.
Messymimi, your words are always so supportive and kind. Thank you.
Aren't they so cool? You got great shots. And bad David! :)
Hilary, I think they're cool, too. Thanks.

Frank, I didn't know you had turkey vultures there. I quite like them. They perform a valuable service.
Glad you liked the photos.
