A Bald Eagle prepares to take off from a tree. |
My husband and I have been able to spend calm, quiet Christmases lately. Often we'll go for a drive. One such drive two years ago led us to this sight along a paved road less than 10 miles from town.
I was fortuante enough to get several photos of the Bald Eagle in the tree and in flight.

Such majestic looking creatures.
ahhh the calm quiet christmases.
I always took those for granted until I was/am compelled to socialize this year :)
They are so dramatically beautiful in flight.
They sure are, David.
Carla, you'll get through it. Calm and quiet are never a given.
Tabor, it's a magnificent sight.
Beautiful Leah! This is not something you see everyday- those birds always take my breath away.
Wonderful capture.
(Wish my Christmases sounded so majestically peaceful;)
Gorgeous!!!
Beautiful!
Calm, quiet Christmases are nice. But so are boisterous, noisy ones. Ours will probably fall somewhere in between.
Beautiful timing on that capture Leah. Calm & quiet Christmases are nice.
Me, too, Dawn. They are magnificent.
Thanks, Betty.
Thanks, Bag Lady. As long as you enjoy it.
Reb, thanks. I prefer the quiet ones myself.
We are blessed to see many nests when we go to Florida for vacation each year, and once in a while we will see one take off from the nest.
Beautifully timed shot.
It's a sight I could watch over and over again, Messymimi.
Thanks.
Beautiful!! Birds of prey are fantastic. To get a snapshot of them like that is awesome. Since moving up here I've got my camera with me at all times to get the perfect shot of one. There are apparently 2 golden eagles just up from the next village to us. One day, one day!!
Great photo, Leah.
Bald eagles are one of the birds of prey I admire.
We've been very fortunate to have a pair nesting very near our cottage the last three years. It's always a special thrill to see one.
I was lucky enough to see the same birds which Frank mentioned. So wonderful to see them in flight or otherwise. I love this shot.. great timing.
David, I was very fortunate get this pic.
Good for you for being ready. Golden Eagles are magnificent.
Barbara, me, too.
Frank, you are fortunate. It must be quite a sight.
Hilary, thanks.
That is amazing, Leah. Eagles are such regal birds. That's a great shot.
