"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
-Hamlet, Act One, Scene Five
This above all: to thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” - (again with the Hamlet)
The pattern along the top looks like it might mean something, but I don't know enough to recognize a hieroglyph if it jumped off the wall at me....
This kind of picture frustrates me so! I want to know who the ancient people are, and what they're doing and why the picture was painted, and, and, and. (No, I never considered studying anthropology. I knew it would drive me crazy.)
Mary Anne, our guide was a trained archaeologist who could read hieroglyphics. It was fascinating. His country's history was his passion and it showed.
Dawn, I'm still tickled silly that I was there. I tried to do my best with the photos, but they simple do not compare with being there.

Hey, I didn't know they had Zumba classes back in ancient Egypt! Great photo.
Great photo, cousin. And it matters not that you can't remember where it was.... it's just cool that you got to see it and share it with us!
Crabby, it truly was an advanced civilization. Thanks.
Bag Lady, thanks.
Such an amazing work of art!
Magnificent artwork, Leah. Truly superb.
Betty and David, it's even more impressive in person.
Very lovely Leah. I second Sis too ;)
Thanks, Reb.
Amazing, no matter where it was.

Mary Anne in Kentucky
So neat that you got to actually see this! It amazes me on documentaries....but in real life it must be astounding.

Wow. I can't imagine how mind-blowing it must be to actually see something like this up close and personal.
Hilary, it's almost too much to absorb. To be in those places, to walk where they did.
