"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
-Hamlet, Act One, Scene Five
This above all: to thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” - (again with the Hamlet)
The little guy was shy and scared as he explored on the steps of our garage.
Here he, or she, hunkers down and tries to be inconspicuous.
The squirrel stuck around a while and explored. I don't know if the raspberry got eaten or not.
It's a squirrel, it ate the raspberry. An experiment with squirrels to see what their favorite food might be showed that they love most -- the food closest to them at that moment. Really.
Frank and I spent a week enjoying a baby red squirrel up at the cottage, earlier this month. It was one of his sister's rehab projects. She was sweet and cuddly with us.. bossy with Benny. The squirrel.. not Frank's sister. ;) I'll have photos eventually.

So cute!
Yes it was, Reb. I couldn't resist getting the camera.
Darling!

Oh so cute. I've never seen one so small.
It's adorable. I'm glad you snapped a shot.

Messymimi, I'm sure it did. It, or a littermate came by later and had more raspberries.
Laurita, it was just getting about in the world and was very scared.
Hilary, thanks. I probably could have picked this one up. It's the wrong thing to do and I know better, but I probably could have even so.
I always shy away from animals that are cautious and do not try to run away as I get concerned they are sick...glad this one was not.
Tabor, I was worried it was sick, but I think it was just scared.
I avoid sick animals, too. They don't know where I've been.
What a cute little thing! I'm sure it finally got brave enough to eat the raspberry.
I think so, Bag Lady.
I have to say he's pretty cute. Although...the older ones like to eat through my containers on camping trips;)
Dawn, squirrels can wreak some havoc. It's a good thing they're cute.
The little thing ought to be scampering away as fast as its legs can go. Or there won't be a next time for a cute shot.
True, Barbara.
