Photo-Finish Friday -- Giza and Sphinx in the Smog

This is an amazing sight even when it is shrouded by smog.

I chose this to show the air quality and the endless train of tourists.

It's like looking at it through the mists of time.

Yeah, what Mary Anne said!

Wonderful picture, cousin.

I never thought of it that way, Mary Anne, but you're right.

Thanks, Bag Lady.

It's also sobering -- will we manage to destroy these things that even time and weather have only touched?

A place I've always wanted to go to. One of my uncles was in Cairo in 1956. Awesome photo despite the smog. The closest I've been is tanding beside stone portions taken from buildings that have inscriptions in the ROM in Toronto. Interesting vibrations.

Messymimi, agreed. We've caused so much harm in so little time.

Barbara, thanks. It is well worth the trip.
The feeling one gets there is too much to deal with at once.
