Escaped Socks Secrets Revealed!

Ever wonder where socks go to once they make good their escape from the dryers of the world?
I have.
But now the mystery has been solved. I stumbled on this strange sight yesterday while out for a walk near a local lake.
I found three socks sunning themselves on a tree in the mid-afternoon.

Did they finally feel safe enough to finish drying?
Or was it just a rest before continuing on their journey?
We may never know.

Thanks for clearing up this mystery! You'll have to go back to check and see if the count has increased, or if they were just resting during their migration to Sockville -- "Wasting Away Again in Sockville..." (OMG, too much coffee this morning!)

This explains a heck of a lot! I can't say I blame them, though. Hanging out on a sunny tree branch sure beats being stretched over someone's stinky feet.

Yeah, I'd run away, too!

But were they LEFT socks?

I agree with bunnygirl, it looks like a great place to hang out for awhile.

Thanks baglady, now I have those songs in my head!

OOH, maybe you have a three footed gigantithopolis in the area?

I wonder if that's their theme song?

I agree, Bunnygirl. I'd rather be on a tree than on a foot.

"OOH, maybe you have a three footed gigantithopolis in the area?"

I wish. I'd love a photo.

The tree is actually holding the socks for ransom. But the owner need not worry becasue we all know a tree's bark is worse than it's bite.

Oooh Travis. Thanks for the laugh.

A tree growing socks, what kind of an omen is that?

Leah,

Thank you! Thank you! I finally understand!

Today I am going to dig through my sock drawer, pull out my lonely, mate-less socks and bring them to the park to set them free!

Let them fly away and find their "sole" mates!

Wonderful post! Wonderful thread!

Terrie

Odile S - I never thought of it as an omen. Should we worry?

Terrie - By all means set them free! And teehee on the "sole" mates. Good one.
