"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
-Hamlet, Act One, Scene Five
This above all: to thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” - (again with the Hamlet)
I loved the textured look of this huge rock on the hillside in the mountains out west. Some day I'd like climb closer to it for more intimate shots of it. It looks like a lovely spot to sit and contemplate the scenery.
Hello Mary Anne in Kentucky, you're welcome. It was a pleasure to see that rock in the wild. Natural Bridge State Park sounds liked a wonderful spot. Maybe someday I'll get to see it.
dfBag Lady, I think it'll be an amazing spot for a rest.

It sure is a beauty. Its texture reminds me of an elephant's hide.
it DOES look like an elephants hide! and for some reason to me as though it would made of aged wood...
I just want to climb up it!
Looks like a wonderful place to have a sit and soak up some some.
Lovely pic.
I never really thought of it, Hilary, but you're right.
I see that, too, MizFit.
Crabby, thanks. I'd be there right now if I could.
That is a world-class rock. Thank you.
Someday I must get back to Natural Bridge State Park where some of my favorite rocks are.

That is a wonderful rock! Looks like a great perch for viewing the world!
Wonderful texture! I could see sitting there enjoying the scenery, running fingers over the roughness.

Reb, I'm looking forward to doing just that.
Wonderful rock. After you've recovered from the surgery you might enjoy communing with it awhile. It will give you its strength.
Dawn I believe you are absolutely right.
Oh my goodness, Leah, what a beautiful rock. Like you, I want to climb close to it, then climb up on top of it and sit and dream awake for hours.
"...dream awake for hours." Oh that is exactly it, Thomma Lynn.
It is very interesting. I wonder what geological happening made it.
Hello Lover of Life.
That's a good question. We've got an erratic in town along a walking trail that is used for climbing.
Intriguing rock you've taken a photo of. I bet it has many stories to tell.
I'm sure it does, Barbara.
