Gratitude Monday --By Way of Illustration

I am grateful for the trip to Yellowstone. I am happy I got the chance to see Old Faithful, and I am very grateful that I finally sorted out about some of the camera settings on my Pentax.
At the risk of this getting old:

And now a similar shot after the illustration filter:

I originally didn't care for the illustration filter, but I've got to say it's growing on me.

Thanks for stopping by.

Funny how we sometimes resist change only to learn how much we love it.

I have to say that I do prefer the first one.. great action shot, Leah.

That's about it, Hilary. But we don't really know until we try.

I think you're right. The first one is a better pic, but the second one looks like an ice storm to me and thus has its charms.

Very, very neat shot and I hope someday to visit OF.

The first pic is fabulous. The illustration feature will have its uses, I'm sure.

Love the post, but I absolutely LOVE the header photo. Beautiful curve and well-placed.

That's a pretty cool setting. I think I prefer the first photo though, but I am sure that setting on a different scene will be great.

Thanks, David. I hope you get there soon.

Messymimi, thanks. The filter will come in handy someday.

Thanks, Mary. It's looking south between the Falklands and the southern tip of Argentina around sunset.

Reb, thanks. I think illustration will work out for some pics, but it certainly doesn't suit all of them.

I like them both and actually don't think they look like the same photos at all!

And I have to ask...where did you take that great photograph in your header?
