Near Autumn at the Lake

Jackfish Lake, near Nordegg, Alberta

The leaves start to turn before the calendar does out here. This photo was taken a few days before autumn officially started.
I used the colour extraction filter on my camera to enhance the yellow of the leaves. I thought it underscored the changing season.

Yep, the yellow cam out nicely. You ever think of doing a calender? You got the chops for it.

Is that a little jetty in the water? Whatever it is - it looks made for sitting upon and dangling the legs over.

And I too approve of the yellowing of the yellow. There are some colors you can never have too much of and autumn yellow is one of them.

David, thank you so much. Calendar never crossed my mind.

Dawn, I really wanted to show the yellow in this pic. I'm playing with reds in others that I might post soon. The dock in the shot is rather welcoming, isn't it?

Thanks, Laurita. It is a calming spot.

When I look at this...it`s calming. Something I could use right now in this house:)
(I have to tell you.... thank you for your comment ``Autumn has it`s own charms``...I know I have mentioned it before, but the thought keeps running through my head every time I`m wandering outside now.
I look for those charms!
Thank you!

Very nice. I like the warped dock and the yellow contrasting to b&w.

Dawn, I'm so glad my comment has helped you, and I'm glad you find calmness in this pic.

Reb, thanks. I really wanted to show the yellow, and that dock sure has character.
