"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
-Hamlet, Act One, Scene Five
This above all: to thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” - (again with the Hamlet)
The clouds over the Rocky Mountains near the Banff Park border made an interesting sight. They may be known as "mare's tails," but to me they were a chorus of dancing mermaids.
What do you see?

I did not know they called them mare's tails, but I do like that description. Lovely area of the world there!
This is the second blog this morning that's mentioned mares tails. I love that photo. Those mountains are breathtaking.
Tabor, I just learned the term from my husband last week when we saw them. Thanks.
Laurita, thanks. They really are.
Lovely picture, Leah. I have heard them called mare's tails, and that looks like quite a herd!
Oops, forgot to say I like the new header picture!
It truly was, Bag Lady.
Glad you like the new header. I'll have it up for a while. It's good to see Mike in his natural habitat.
Lovely mare's tails you have there, but I like your chorus of dancing mermaids ;) Lovely mountains too.
It is lovely to see Mike in the bushes...is a Mike in the bush worth two in the hand? Oh, now that sounds bad, sorry.
Thanks so much, Reb. Glad the new header is a hit.
Love your question.
Mare's tails are lovely, i seldom get to see them against a mountain like that. Beautiful.
It is my pleasure to share, Messymimi.
Yes mare's tails. Great to have someone who knows her clouds. Great photo.
Never heard that term.. such pretty clouds. And I also like the new header. Nice to see Mike.
Mare's Tails would make a sharp sounding western title and I bet it has already been used. And I can see those mermaids. Yep.
Red, full credit to my husband for knowing the name.
They really are, Hilary.
Glad you can see the mermaids, David. Go ahead and use the title anyway.
Leah, great shot. I've always associated them with good weather in summer, but early spring in the Rockies is fine too.
Thanks, Barbara.
