I am fascinated by ear trees. I love to draw them.
I was thrilled beyond measure to find one in its natural habitat.
I found this magnificent specimen at the entrance to Marten River Campground, Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park.
Oh, I certainly had faith in their existence, but I had never seen one until now.
Ear trees are the best.

Imagine what it's heard! Wonderful photo and discovery, Leah. Well done, you!
Thanks, VL. It was such a happy surprise to find it.
Did you whisper when you walked by?
Who knew? I have seen many faces in trees, but never an actual ear. So cool!
Kimberley, I can't wait to find a nose tree. I know they're out there.
Leah, I have seen the nose tree!
Wonderful, Kimberley. I have renewed hope.
Wow, i didn't know trees could grow such ears! The things you learn every day if you read.
Wonders abound, Messymimi.
Nose trees are much more common than ear trees around here. There is one where I used to walk in the state park (too far away now to go often.) And I've seen others on a less regular basis. But trees don't need ears to hear. You can tell that by the way they sigh.
