Affairs of the Heart

Looking down into the blossoms

I can get my heart zapped any time.
My echocardiogram is set for June 3, and I thought I’d have to have it done before the dc cardioversion, but apparently I can get the cardioversion first if the timing works out.
I got a call yesterday from Dr. Pimm’s office in Red Deer telling that once a bed opens for me in ICU I can get it done. Pimm is a doctor of Internal Medicine and friend and colleague of my cardiologist in Edmonton.

I know this cardioversion will take. I’ll be off the rat poison three weeks after it’s done and most likely back on daily regular dose ASA. I’m not sure about the fate of the beta blocker I take, but I’ll concern myself with it later on. For now I’m concentrating on the good news about getting a good old fashioned electric shock to straighten me out once and for all.

Learning that Mr. Sulu can marry his long time love tickled me silly.
Congratulations George Takei and Brad Altman.
Live long and prosper.

dfLeah - here's hoping the cardioversion takes place sooner rather than later, and everything gets back to normal for you.

And that Mr Sulu can have the wedding he's dreamed of!

A very heart-y post today!!

(I know - that was pretty lame...)

I got a kick out of it, dfBagLady.

I'm sending my ultra-best thoughts for you to have a safe procedure with a perfect outcome.

It's really mind-boggling when you think about how this California state law (not to mention our own relatively recent changes) is still such a big deal in this day and age. That in itself is disHEARTning, but at least we're finally beginning to grow up.

Oh and beautiful photo. Taken from an upstairs window?

Hilary - Thanks for the ultra-best wishes.
Gay marriage really shouldn't be a big deal, but it is for now.

Glad you like the pic. I took it standing on the ground. I just set the camera on macro, held my arms up as high as I could, and then shot downward. I was very pleased with how it turned out.

I always enjoy your puns.

Lovely shot Leah! (I wondered if you had climbed a ladder, glad to hear you were on the ground)

Great news about your procedure, hopefully it will be soon, then you can enjoy the rest of summer.

I too think it is ridiculous that gay marriage is such a big deal.

Reb, the photo is tricky. It looks like it's higher up than it is.
I am sure my zapping will be done shortly.

df Leah,

Best of Luck with your medical procedures.

Your story about Mr. Sulu is charming and "heart" warming.
