Gratitude Monday - Sunset And Reflection
I am middle-aged and happy for it. The sun has set on the opening third of life and the gathering dusk has brought an inner quiet needed for deep reflection.
Like any other sunset it’ll be followed by the sunrise of a new day. We forget that sometimes.
I’m grateful I remember it and that I look forward to every day. We can dread the sunrise or welcome it.
I welcome it.

Anytime I get to feeling jealous of the cute, hip young things, I just remind myself that we all get our day to be young and hip and if we're lucky (like you and me!) we get to keep learning and growing afterwards.
Besides, getting older sure beats the alternative!
Yes, Bunnygirl we are lucky. And you're right. This is way better than the alternative.
Great post, dfLeah - and I agree with both you and BG that this is definitely better than the alternative!
Lovely sentiment, Leah.. and photo.
Thanks dfBag Lady and Hilary.
df Leah,
Gorgeous shot! As the oldest one here, I say: every sunrise is extraordinary and as time goes by, they get more extraordinary, so always take the time to recognize and to feel gratitude.

Wise words, df Terrie. Glad you like the pic.
Beautiful sentiments to go with a beautiful photo! I can say with honesty that I am grateful to be here.
I am sure you are, Reb. I'm pleased you like the photo and the sentiments.
Wow, Leah! That is a gorgeous photo. And you're so right. I like being the age I am. I've learned a heck of a lot about life, and I'm a much more interesting person in so many ways than I was when I was young. And like you, I want to keep learning and growing for the rest of my days. :)
Thanks so much Thomma Lyn. Middle age is absolutely wonderful. We just have to see it that way. Good to know you do.
