Gratitude Monday - Mundane Is Good

The Weeping Wall in Jasper National Park.

I’m grateful for a great deal of things. I have a good life and I live close to the mountains. They make me feel good.
I can jump in my car and go for a drive whenever I feel like it.
That means:

a)I can drive.
b)I have a car.
c)I am free to go as I please.

My car in the mountains

It may seem very simple and basic and it is. But tell me, how many of us think to be thankful for the mundane?
We can do so much. We drive and shop for food and take a nap. We have the freedom to work hard at a job we love or do nothing at all.
I remind myself that not everyone in the world enjoys even these basic, mundane freedoms. I am grateful for these simple pleasures.

Oh, my goodness, what beautiful pictures. The Weeping Wall takes my breath away.

I agree, the simple pleasures are the best ones: doing what we love, taking walks outdoors, spending time with loved ones.

A morning cup of coffee may seem mundane to some... but I feel profoundly grateful for it!

Thanks again for the reminder.

Thomma Lynn, the Weeping Wall is a most wonderful spot. I could spend days there.

Crabby, good for you and I agree. It's a simple pleasure that very few of us think about. Having it, and having the time to enjoy it.

Beautiful! I am grateful to have my little condo, where I can relax with a book and a fuzzy cat on rainy days. It is the simple pleasures that count!

Thanks, Polly. Well put. Glad you like the photos.

Missicat, my husband is allergic to kitties or else we'd have a houseful. Relaxing with a cat and book on a rainy day, or any other time, is a lovely simple pleasure.

df Leah,

Wonderful post and outstanding pictures!

The more mundane things are the more grateful I am because if those "mundane" things were suddenly to turn up missing, my life would change drastically.

Thank you for this reminder to focus more on the mundane things in my life.

Terrie

dfTerrie, thanks.
You're absolutely right. When the mundane things change, then life gets complicated.
Go Mundane!

Glorious photos Leah! I love the Weeping Wall. I too am grateful for mundane things, like a roof over my head and the fact that even though I have to take the bus, I can go buy groceries later today. I am very grateful that I have a cousin in the mountains that like to photograph them and post them on her blog for me to see and enjoy.

Well now Reb, thank you so much and you're welcome. I've got plenty of photos to post and most of them are mountain.

It really is the little things that make it all hang together. There are a lot of those little mundanities that we think aren't important until we don't have them.

Lovely pics!

Yes, bunnygirl.
We don't miss the mundanities until we don't have them.
Thanks.
