For several years now we’ve gone on an annual camping trip with some friends. It’s wonderful.
We’ve hiked and eaten some amazing campfire meals. One year we spent two nights on a small island in a lake in northeastern Alberta. The moon was full and we had the place to ourselves the first night. It is so cool to feel like you have your very own island.
I’m grateful to have these adventures with friends. It’s something we look forward to every year.
It’s good to get out feel your energy expand and encompass the
world and to re-stock your soul.
I’m grateful to do that.

Sounds wonderful!
I feel the same way about camping. We've got a late summer trip planned and I can't wait.

df Leah,
I am grateful that you get to do something that you enjoy so much.
As a city girl, a walk in the park is my idea of nature!
Terrie
Oh, yes! Love the camping thing, and being on an island all alone would be so cool!
Of course, for us, going camping in a campground where there are tons of other people would be strange. It would be like vacationing in the city.
Crabby, it is wonderful. I hope you enjoy every moment of your late summer trip.
dfTerrie, thanks so much. A walk in the park is good, too.
dfBag Lady, I can see how that would be weird for you.
Lucky you! Dan and I were going to camp on the last day or two of our vacation but it was so windy (gusts up to 40 mph) that it simply wasn't possible to pitch a tent. :-(
Awww, sounds like you had a wonderful time -- I'm so glad! I like to camp, too. Being in the mountains, whether I'm camping or hiking, is one of my very favorite places to be. :) Being close to nature really gives a person perspective, releases stress, recharges energy. :)
Bunnygirl, we do consider ourselves very lucky to have these camping adventures.
Thomma Lyn, you're so right. Nature is just plain good for us.
I haven't been camping in a couple of years. I look forward to doing it again someday. Sounds like you had a great time.
Past trips have been wonderful, Reb.
but were there smores involved? Critical piece of info...
It's been ages since I've gone camping but I always enjoyed it immensely. I'm sure your next one will be blog-worthy! :)
Oh, I'll blog, Hilary. I'll blog.
Weightinggame, thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll comment more often. We haven't done smores yet.
Sounds wonderful! I used to camp much more then I do now. Thoggh I don't have an island!
Missicat, the island in the lake camp was just about the best ever.
"Restock your soul"
Well stated!
Thanks so much, Mark.
We all need to re-stock our souls now and then!
Hello, David. Nice to see you here. Yes, re-stocking is important.
